Hello Everyone, and thank you for taking the time.
I am a middle aged guy who grew up in the Cleveland area starting in the late 80's.
I am an Ohio State Alum and went to Ohio State in the early 2000's just as Jim Tressel was raising the expectations of everyone in Ohio.
Some of my best Ohio State memories came from that time period. I was lucky enough to attend the 2002 National Championship Fiesta Bowl when I was a student. I was also blessed enough to attend the OSU Michigan #1 vs #2 game. Some of the best OSU memories!
Growing up in the Cleveland area, I was about 20 minutes for the old Richfield Coliseum. Once, maybe twice a year if I was lucky my dad would get tickets and we would get to go to a game. Those were my first Cavs memories with Mark Price, Larry Nance, Ehlo, Daugherty, and company.
Now I am living in the Phoenix area in Arizona. I have been here for about 10 years but I brought all my Ohio fandome with me. Cleveland sports is always a hot topic of conversation for me.
It is because of this that out here in Arizona I am known as "The Cleveland Sports Guy"
There have been countless times I have found myself in a sports related conversation no matter where I go. Having a brief connecting conversation with someone you never would otherwise is something to be appreciated.
Being in Arizona I have to go to unusual lengths to get my Cleveland sports fixes. There have been many 10 am Sunday mornings at the corner bar to catch the Browns game. No matter anywhere I go, I always represent my Cleveland and Ohio roots.
Perhaps it is my nature, but because I always end up in those types of conversation I always end up being known as "The Cleveland Sports Guy".The spice of life is conversation with others.
For me and many I know, we enjoy these conversations through the medium of sports. From conversations with family and friends, strangers at the bar, at the bowling alley, or new friends you make at the game, speaking the language of sports brings us all together and can make friends of us all.
